How to submit your Juliet Marillier-based fan fiction

Wild Souls of Gypsies by Samee Babe
When a mysterious girl shows up from the future and meets Finbar, she shows him a side of life he thought himself barred from. Now, only a few years after her disappearance back to her own time, another shows up who looks just like her. Could it be her or someone else? What will happen when she meets Liaden? What will Finbar think? It's my first DF fanfic and the Child of the Prophecy never happened.

What is fan fiction?
Have you ever read a book or watched a movie and wondered what might have happened between one scene and another, or what a character may have been thinking or feeling during a certain scene in the story? Have you ever found yourself so intrigued by a story that you find yourself daydreaming about it long afterwards and perhaps expanding the story beyond what you have already experienced of it? Some times a story is so inspiring, people can't help but take their daydreams and write them down, thus creating 'fan fiction'.

Fan fiction are stories based on a fandom, written by fans. Fan fiction can be about a film, novel, TV show, etc. Fan writers use the characters and 'universe' of their chosen fandom, and use fan fiction to create new plots or add depth, history, etc to the characters who exist within the fandom. Sometimes we love a story or character so much, we simply can't let it go. (Often TV shows long ago abandoned and cancelled by their creators, are kept 'alive' on the internet because of fan fiction.)

No copyright infringement is ever intended, and it is never a fan writer's intention to 'steal' from the original creators. Fan fiction is simply a non-profit hobby, enjoyed by thousands of people within thousands of fandoms. Like fansites, fan fiction has carved out an incredible neiche upon the internet, serving the purpose of enhancing and widening a fandom community, as well as brushing up on one's writing skills!

Some authors do not approve of the distribution of fan fiction and in these cases, their wishes must be respected. A small selection of fan fiction can in fact be found at Juliet Marillier's official website (these can be found in her Reader's Gallery).

If you've written fan fiction based on Juliet Marillier's novels and would like to list it here, please read the submission guidelines below.
