Where to begin. I am a 55 yr old grandmother, and read Daughter of the Forest because my grandaughter was reading it for summer reading. I think it should be a movie. I could not put it down. It is so fascinating. As good as Harry Potter yet more adult. I read the sevenwaters trilogy and now I miss them so much I don't want to read anything else. So I figured there'd be a website and here I am. I'm reading them again. What a vacation from life to such a beautiful world. I miss all these characters so much and wish Sorcha and Red did't have to die. I thought the ending with Niamh's daughter out in seclusion poetic but sad, to not see her father and relatives again in person. I looved the Irish folklore.

I woreship these books. I am an avid reader and these are by far the best books I've ever read in my life. I cried when Sorcha died. The author makes them seem so real and she describes everything so vividly you can see it playing before your eyes. These are the kinds of books that take you away from reality.

Well! After seeing so much enthusiasm I want nothing less but to transmit
the same... JM books were an inspiration and a curse at the same time. the minute I
saw «The Daughter of the Forest» in my school's library I knew the reading would be
great. The only thing bad was the exams that I was having at the time.. and let's
say the book got me a litle bit distracted... Fool of me for starting to read in such
time and of course after reading «The Daughter of the Forest» I had to read «The
Son of the Shadows» and so on and so forth until last night when I ended reading
«The Dark Mirror» which I gotta say isn't less of a good reading as the Sevenwaters
Trilogy.. It also got me hooked.. and again when I was having exams. Never learn do
I? But gotta say.. with books like this who would be able to resist........

I love to read and I love to write. My main goal in life is to become a
fantasy novelist. Juliet Marillier is amazing. Her books not only entertain me to
the fullest extent... but they cure my writers block. I would probably still be on
paragraph one if it wasn't for Marillier.
I picked up my first Marillier book on a whim (I'm really drawn to covers). Now I
buy any Marillier book I can find.
I just wanted to say thank you.

No one I know has read these books other than myself, and I just had to
say that Daughter of the Forest is my favorite book of all time. I read tons, and
I'm a big LOTR freak but even Daughter of the Forest tops that in my books. I
think the love story between Sorcha and Red is the greatest ever written. I cry at
the end every time. I love how the story is told from start to finish. The writing
is amazing. I've read it many times, and I plan to read it many more times.

The Sevenwaters Trilogy are some of the most amazing books... As an
aspiring writer I look up to Marillier. There are few books that I can go so deep
into it is hard to find my way out, but that is the way it is with this Trilogy.
Whenever I need to get away for a while Liadan and Bran are there for me.

I have always loved fantasy and mythology, but I have never been able to
find such books that are up to my reading level. Juliet's books are amazing. I
can't wait to read her next book. I even have my friends and teachers borrowing her
books from me. They absolutely love them, too!

The Sevenwaters Trilogy are my favorite books. I was twelve when I got
Daughter of the Forest for my birthday and it was so great I could not stop reading.
It was like I was hypnotised by the books, but in a good way of course. My favorite
book is Child of the Prophecy, and I am so happy my book is signed! (they told me it
was the last book of the publisher or someting I'm not sure (and I do not want to
show off)
Juliet Marillier is absolutely my favorite author and I hope there will come more
great books and I hope that many people will read her books too!

Its hard to find a 'fantasy' book which truly and utterly absorbs you into the
story, but I'm glad to say the Sevenwaters Trilogy totally fills that aim. The
books are both beautiful and tragic, relatable and magical. I loved the protective
brothers of Sorcha especially Finbar whose story is so sad and sorrowful in itself.
The three strong female characters are perfectly realistic and jump right from the
page. The romantic elements are wonderful especially Sorcha and Red (hands up who
shed a tear...me)
JM doesn't fob us of with a perfectly happy ever after, the books are beautifully
bittersweet.
Recommended to everyone

Oh how i have loved these books!!! I love to read and these books have
enchanted me more than any other book I have read. I have a deep love of mythology
and elven lore. I love good medievil book with magic. I have run through almost all
the books like this at my school and I was wondering if I was ever going to find a
good book like this when one day I stumbled across this book. I was the first to read
the Sevenwaters Trilogy in my school. I just couldn't put them down. These books
are like none I have ever read. Now I hope that our school will get more of her
books because like I said I am running low of good books like these and I am only a

I am a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings, and ever since reading them i
have read a lot of fantasy books hoping to find something just as good. With the
Sevenwaters Trilogy i found something even better! (It takes a lot to say this as i
am a devoted LOTR fan!!) I especially love the romance between Liadan and Bran. All
of the books are so spellbinding and all of the women are so strong. These books
have changed my life and the life of my fellow LOTR fan friend, Zerra. We are
forever in Juliet Marilliers debt for offering us something so entirely beautiful
for us to treasure. Thank you.

I have read the sevenwaters trilogy but none other. I look forward to
reading them!!! also there is a quote from one of her sevenwaters books that I have
been desperatly looking for and have not yet found. It has something to do with
trust and that you can only trust in death. If anyone knows the quote I'm looking
for, I believe its near the end of the third book but am not sure, please let me
know... thanks

I discovered these wonderful books, that is the sevenwaters trilogy, when
I was on holiday, a long, long way from home in New Zealand (which I have to say is
the most wonderful, magical place I have ever been too) and was running low oneading
material for the long flight back to the UK. I read Daughter of the Forest on the
plane home and as soon as I got back I rushed out to the buy the rest. They really
are amazing, and I'll be reading all the Julliet Marillier I can get my hands on.

Juliet is by far my favorite author. I have read all of the books she has
published so far, my favorite being Son of Shadows, and I am really looking forward
to her new book The Dark Mirror. Juliet's books have inspired me to one day travel
to the British Isles, which I hope to do when I am done school.

I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi books. When I discovered that Juliet who had
married into my family was an author, I wanted to read her books. This was a good
choice, as I have not yet been disappointed, and have found the Sevenwaters Trilogy
to be among the best books I have read. I'll be reading the rest of the published
books, and waiting eagerly for future books.

I first read JM while staying with my boyfriend's family one Christmas,
down in Marton (New Zealand). It was the day before we were due to come back to
Auckland and, thinking to just do a bit of reading before lunch, I picked up
Daughter of the Forest from a stack of books in the lounge and began to
read...
From the first paragraph, I was absolutely absorbed into the story. There was no
way I could put it down, especially as time was running short and I only had that
night to finish the book before driving six hours back to Auckland the following
day! But so magical was the story, I managed to complete it before leaving, and as
soon as I could, went to the library to track down the rest of JM's books! (And
have now read them over and over...)
Juliet Marillier's writing is a legacy I hope my daughter will read when she's
older. What better way to draw a person into mythology, fantasy, history,
magic, and imagination? Especially to know that this amazing author was born here in
New Zealand - go the national pride!
